Oregon to join California and New York with 50% renewable energy goal

Gov. Kate Brown is expected to sign the bill to set a 50% renewable energy standard and eliminate coal from the state’s power mix.

The bill also creates a community solar program, allowing Oregonians without solar suitable roofs to own a portion of a larger central array and have credits applied to their electricity bills
